“Heal-Thy-Self” Health is Wealth!
The 1st Three Yoga Spa Recipes are my FAVORITE NamaSTAY at Home Facials using all natural Scrub, Cleanser and Moisturizer followed by a Coconut Oil self massage. I’ve also provided additional DIY natural recipes for skin care.
SCRUB: Honey Almond
Ingredients:
- 1/2 Cup of Almonds (Crushed/Blended)
- 2 Tablespoons of Honey (Raw)
- 1 Tablespoon of Water
Directions:
- Blend the almonds in a blender
- Mix the almonds, honey and water together to form a paste (Feel free to add more water or honey to create the consistency you would like)
- Apply to your face (avoid the eyes)
- Leave for 15 minutes
- Gently wash off with a warm wet washcloth
CLEANSER: Bentonite Clay with a Drop of Tea Tree Oil
Ingredients:
- 2 Tablespoons of Bentonite Clay
- 4 Tablespoons of Water
- 1 Drop of Tea Tree (Can also drop in Frankincense and Lavender Essential Oil. My personal favorite is the Young Living Brand www.youngliving.com
Directions:
- Mix all of the ingredients together
- Apply to your face (avoid the eyes)
- Leave for 20-30 minutes
- Gently wash off with a warm wet wash cloth
MOISTURIZER: Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter & Lavender Oil
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons of Shea Butter
- 2 Tablespoons of Cocoa Butter
- 1 drop of Lavender
Directions:
- Heat up the Shea & Cocoa Butter on the stove. I like to put them in a small Pyrex dish, and put the Pyrex dish in a pot of boiling water to heat up. Be careful taking the butter out.
- Add the Lavender
- Mix all together
- Apply on face (avoid the eyes)
Ayurvedic Self Massages: This supports better immunity! I prefer Coconut Oil, but feel free to use the Carrier Oils that you have at hOMe!!
Shirobangha: Coconut Oil Head Massage
- Brahmrandra: Circles Clockwise on the Top of your Head
- Adipati: Circles Clockwise on the Back of your Head
- Add more oil as you repeat these steps
- Use 4 fingers and vigurously rub the right side of your head, then the left side
- Use 4 fingers to vigurously rub hand on the forehead, up the back and over the top of the head
- Massage the Occipital Ridge
- Scissor Stroke the rest of your head
Abhyanga: Full Body Massage using Coconut Oil, or Sesame Oil. Massage the whole body from the arms, legs, feet, hands, chest, neck, belly
Additional Facial Scrub Recipes: Always feel free to modify the ingredients depending upon personal allergies or what you have at home. Get creative!
Oatmeal Scrub:
Ingredients:
- ½ cup of oatmeal
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons plain yogurt
Directions:
- Follow directions to Cook oatmeal
- Combine honey & yogurt, then add in oatmeal to cool
- Apply to your face (avoid the eyes)
- Leave for 15 minutes
- Gently wash off with a warm wet wash cloth
Chocolate Scrub
Ingredients:
- ½ cup of unsweetened cocoa
- ½ cup of plain yogurt
- ¼ cup of honey
- Optional tablespoon of Coconut Palm Sugar
Directions
- Mix all of the ingredients together. Add water if you want a thinner consistency.
- Apply to your face (avoid the eyes)
- Leave for 15 minutes
- Gently wash off with a warm wet wash cloth
Banana Scrub
Ingredients:
- 2 ripe bananas
- ¾ cup of plain yogurt
- 3 tablespoons of honey
- Optional tablespoon of Coconut Palm Sugar
Avocado Scrub
Ingredients:
- 2 ripe Avocados
- 2 tablespoons of honey
- Avocado Oil (or oil of choice: Grape Seed, Vitamin E, etc)
- Sea Salt
Directions:
- Mix all of the ingredients together. Add water if you want a thinner consistency
- Apply to your face (avoid the eyes)
- Leave for 15 minutes
- Gently wash off with a warm wet wash cloth
Banana Avocado Scrub
Ingredients:
- 1 overripe banana
- 1 overripe avocado
- ½ cup of plain yogurt
- 1 tablespoon raw sugar
Directions:
- Mash the banana and avocado together
- Mix all of the ingredients together. Add water if you want a thinner consistency
- Apply to your face (avoid the eyes)
- Leave for 15 minutes
- Gently wash off with a warm wet wash cloth
You can also use Coconut Oil, Grape Seed Oil, or Olive Oil to create Moisturizers. You can mix the oils with Plant Based Milk, Yogurt, Lavender, Tea Tree and Frankincense Essential Oils to create your own Moisturizer Mix.
